Peer Review Experience
This week I got to look at some of my peers' web portfolios from my Teaching and Learning with Technology course. It really enhanced how important peer reviewing is in classrooms because I found that by looking over others' work, I was able to identify areas of my portfolio that need fixing. I would urge all educators to have students engage in peer reviewing because not only does it help teachers with grading, it helps students analyze their own work. I noticed while I was going through the criteria that I was thinking about how I could improve my website and have since been making changes. The power of peer review is that it does not only benefit the student being reviewed, it benefits the reviewer. For example, when going through another student's website, I noticed that they were very consistent with fonts which led me to go back and make sure all of my fonts were the same. I also have been adding more multimedia elements in the website. Peer reviewing is a great low-pressure way to get students to evaluate their own work through helping others.
